Inc. We are a nonprofit organization operating for seven years. One of the known problems we face today is at risk youth and families. For the better future of our next generation, we have to take action in addressing this raising concern. With so many youths impacted by the juvenile justice system, the pipeline to prison reality of many children of color, is the reason why We Have a Purpose was founded. We are a solution to resolve the problem of insufficient assistance, support and remediation to justice impacted youth We have set an action plan that shall primarily resolve this matter within the community.
OUR STORY
We Have a Purpose is a grassroots youth development organization with a deep focus on empowering and supporting justice impacted youth and addressing the impact of the school to prison pipeline. We believe in the power of positive adult influences in the lives of our youth and provide holistic wrap up around services from prevention and intervention to post program success. Youth who have experienced trauma, poverty and adverse life experiences face the systems of education and justice simultaneously at disproportionate rates. We utilize diversion programming for intervention and restorative practices for prevention to:
• Build strong partnership between grassroots organizations and education
systems and community leaders to address the impact of school to prison
pipeline of youth
• Reduce youth recidivism and restore trust and responsibility in community
and in schools
• Provide opportunities for youth to heal
• Increase opportunities for youth to access employment and education
and transition to adulthood.

OUR GOAL
The overall goal of our programs are to service at risk youths and their families in the community and offer a positive support system with influential people to detour them from making choices that can hinder their future success and have an enhance their total wellness.
With the increase of juveniles in the system and the crime in the area many youths have lost their sight of achieving their goals to become successful and have become destructive in the community. In order to achieve this goal, youths must be in a safe, crime free environment that is conducive to learning and uphold the importance of self, helping others, education, success, safety, integrity, and respect.
